اعتصم عدد كبير من أعيان ومشايخ وعقال مديرية بني الحارث بصنعاء منذ ستة أيام في مخيم نصب بمنطقة المطرح ببني حوات المجاورة لجمارك مطار صنعاء لمطالبة الحكومة بضبط وملاحقة من قتل اللواء عبدالكريم محمد المقحفي وتسليمهم للعدالة حتى تأخذ مجراها.

واستنكر الشيخ محسن هارون عضو مجلس الشورى وشيخ بني الحارث في تصريحه لـ «الأيام» ما حدث وعبر عن استيائه للجريمة قائلا: «سوف نبقى في مطرحنا حتى يتم تسليم الجناة إلى العدالة»، وناشد الدولة بسرعة مطاردة الجناة وتسليمهم إلى العدالة.

وفي بيان أصدرته منظمة مناضلي الثورة اليمنية والدفاع عن الحرية يوم أمس الأول الجمعة أشارت إلى أن الفقيد كان من القلائل الذين غرسوا في نفوسنا وفي نفوس منتسبي القوات المسلحة ممن عملوا معه وتحت قيادته كل معاني وقيم الإخلاص والتفاني ونكران الذات.

الجدير ذكره أن حادث اغتيال اللواء عبدالكريم المقحفي الذي ناهز الثمانين عاما قد حدث ظهر يوم الإثنين 2008/5/5م في قلب أمانة العاصمة، حيث تم طرحه أرضا ورميه بعدة أعيرة نارية أدت إلى وفاته.
